System Reload

System Reload is an international events platform and a means of communication where eco-design ideas and experiences can be shared in an open-sourced manner.

Retooling Ourselves: Collaborative Design Actions is a
series of participative events intended to spark eco-creativity and provoke the passion that exists within the international eco-design community towards real and meaningful action. How can we learn to collaborate as insightful individuals to seek regenerative solutions for our lives and our communities?

Join us for a variety of transformative experiences: Co-creative, thought-provoking, inspiring and playful workshops, storytelling, films, games, eco-creative action events and more! The opening night is on Wednesday the 17th of September followed by two days of action on the 18th and the 19th of September. We also invite all friends to a special eco-creative action event on Saturday 20 Sept at The Hub Kings Cross (www.the-hub.net): speed-meeting, storytelling, films, games and more!

The full story!

The o2 Global Network, founded in 1988, is an international network of designers-for-sustainability who share eco creative information and organize events such as System Reload. System Reload premiered in Milan during the Milan International fair in April this year and featured several leading eco creative minds from around the world. System Reload London promises to take deep green design thinking to another level with "Retooling Ourselves: Collaborative Design Actions".

Our key objective is to create transformative experiences
for our visitors: to create an atmosphere and a situation wherein people learn how to see things in a new way, to identify preconceived ideas and habits, and to reframe issues and attitudes in order to promote more sustainable lifestyles.

Increasingly design is less and less about traditional
product design and more and more about the intangible sides of our reality. We hope to be able to show London Design Festival visitors, which include both professional designers and general designophiles, what ELSE design can be – a fresh and invigorating alternative to exhibitions and talking heads. Design is also system design; it can address designing more comfortable cities, more sustainable behaviour patterns, and even a happier life. At the same time, design does not have to be so darn serious all the time – play can be invigorating, create bonding and be a powerful intuitive tool.

System Reload London at the House of St.Barnabas on Greek Street will therefore take the form of participatory workshops, mainly hour-long activities throughout the day. Depending on the wishes of the facilitator, the workshops may accommodate a steady stream of curious visitors who want to join in the game, or participants may register in advance. We hope that through the course of events a certain story will form, a narrative or a vision of a positive, healthy humanity!
